I took a lot of my old information on previous activities done and made it into a website. I started on dreamweaver but ended with wix. I put the relative information on the same page, some with different tabs. Essentially it is pretty basic, but has everything needed for a rough draft!

• Home Page
• For the home page tab it will give a general idea of what my project's point is. It will have pictures of the problem, as well as pictures of the solution. It will be very vague on the topic of discussion, but still make it known about the problem at hand. Also, the contact information of the organization will be located on the home page tab.
• Research
• My research tab will be the tab that goes into depth about the problem. It will tell you all the numbers and statistics that people should be aware of.
• Future essay
• This tab will have the 15 page essay that I have written to back up the research tab
• Links 
• This link will have all the sites that I have gathered my information from. This will also be where my personal videos and research will be shown. I plan to have secret videos of the reactions of people who are well taken care of compared to the people who are not.

Thinking ahead

Something that could be more visual help could be a brochure that sells what your product is and goes in more depth than a poster about what you are trying to accomplish. I also would like to present a video, not a psa, but something that shows the different reactions that are gotten out of people to prove my research further.

Ideas that could be useful when presenting are:

1. Prepare your introduction 
• One of the most overlooked parts of the presentation experience is the set of words that introduces you before you stand up to speak. A good introduction raises an audience's interest in the presentation and establishes your authority to give the talk in the first place.
2. Visual mnemonics 
• Try using graphic elements to trigger your memory about key points. When you use an image on a slide as a visual mnemonic, you can make your ideas, as well as the presentation, memorable.
3.  Vocal variety
•   How to add interest to your speaking style, how to sound more confident, how to add ingredients such as articulation, inflection, rate, pauses, changes in inflection and volume, and so on.
  
4. Body Language
• This covers areas such as effective gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, cultural gestures, use of passion, visualization, descriptive gestures, and others. 
5.  Know the needs of the audience
• Knowing the needs of your audience can help you tailor your presentation to target their interests and explain how your company can be of use in their specific situation.

I think really great advice is to make sure you have vocal variety. No one wants to listen to a boring person no matter the subject. If you do not seem as if you are confident they will not believe you  whether or not it was completely reliable information. Your voice is the aspect that shows them the type of person you are.

SOPA & PIPA

I think that it is unfair they are taking away our rights to the internet. While I understand where they are coming from, it is rather ridiculous what the outcome will be. No matter the intent, they are taking it to far. Our rights will be stripped from us. As many sites that we will not be able to speak our mind any longer will have a bad effect on our society and I do not think it will be accepted well.

Importance of a Poster

I choose this poster because I think it has all the important characteristics that a poster should have. The colors are appealing to each other, the scenery is interesting, who the poster is for is clear, and it markets in a modest way. I believe this poster represents a good poster that gets its meaning across.

How I made this video

To make this video I started in movie maker and loaded the photos, captions, and the main song. Then I did voiceover in three separate clips and had to export it to Premier Pro. I used sound forge to make sure my voiceover was accurate and set up my prime keys to make sure the voice was where it needed to be.

I found that this article was very helpful in giving ideas of creating a PSA. The article explained different goals of a PSA as well exactly what PSA is. The article made a point to tell the reader to use real language and express themselves clearly. The article also made a point to express how important it is to use emotions in the PSA to grab the viewers attention. Now I know that the most important component of a PSA is to give an emotion appeal to people so they get the feel of the importance of he issue. It also said that the PSA addresses a specific audience. The article made a point to state it is important to use music and images in a timely manner. The article expresses the point to put all your information you want to get across in a timely manner of about 30-60 seconds. The article tells you the real importance of a PSA. It is for the good of the people and in better them. I now understand better what the components of a PSA are and think I will be able to create one with more of a to the point purpose.

PSA intent

I want my PSA to show the effects that low self-esteem has on women. I will be using statistics on homeless people, and quote what homeless women share about their life. I want to get a more in depth feeling on how women who are confidence view their life and how that effects their stressfulness.

• I'm going to start off with my title slide that tells what topic I will be discussing with a song.
• Then I will have statistics on homeless people in America
• In between the slides I will have pictures that represent the hard things homeless people have to live in
• I will have quotes that homeless women have said talking about the way they feel about themselves.
• I will also have quotes from regular women who have low self-esteem and how it affects them
• I will show clips of stories women have shared about their hardships as well
• I will end it with how women with higher confidence levels have more successful lives.

Presentation Capstone Elements

1. For my presentation I may present the things necessary for making the women feel better about themselves, such as blow dryers, flat irons, curlers, and makeup.
2.  I will probably present mine with people holding it since my project involves people. I hope it gives a more in depth feeling.
3. I would probably use a person to demonstrate the purpose of my business to create.
4. Cosmetologists have very casual wear so I do not think any particular dress would matter, but my personal preference is business attire.
5. Important points are the feelings of women with low self-esteem as well the effects it has on these individuals. It is also necessary to provide facts about the harshness of a homeless persons life.
6. I do not know exactly what I would like to present, but a brochure is not the way I want to go with this project I don not think.
7. I will most likely use a video or website because I feel it is more appropriate for the content I will be presenting.

Look and Feel Issues

1. Although my capstone project is about beauty, it has a very serious message about the problems homeless women deal with. This is why I will not be using humor, but get my message across through a very serious PSA.
2. I think that a lot of statistics will be in my PSA, but they will be shown in very plain text and color. I do not want any of the fonts, colors, or pictures to take away from the message.
3. I am hoping that my presentation will show people the real issues of women with low self-esteem and help them see how it effects lives in the most negative way.
4. I am going to make it understood by showing statistics and using real life people, possibly in documentaries or interviews.
5. I intend to create a charitable company that gives women want they want on the outside to fulfill what they want on the inside. I would like to help them with their hair, makeup, and wardrobe so that they feel better about themselves. Once their confidence raises it will be easier for them to go out in the world and get a job and back on their feet. The end result is to get women off the street as long as their children, but my intentions are also to make them feel better about themselves.

Capstone Project Statment of Intent

1. The goal of my project is to get women of streets by raising their self-esteem. Beauty is a huge psychological factor in a woman's view of themselves, so I plan to help change their outside to make them happy on the inside. Once I help raise their confidence, they will be more successful in the world.
2. Homeless people in America is a sad thing that many people have to live with. If I can get more women off the street than not only will it help them, it could boost the economy.
3. I want to be a cosmetologist. Making people feel better about themselves is what I want to do for a living.
4. Like I said earlier, it helps the individual person as well as the economy to get people back on their feet.
5. This project targets homeless women. It helps get them on their feet in a way that allows them to stay on them. It does not just place them in a job, but rather give them the courage to go find a job.
